Baan Rak Thai, Thailand

Sitting in a bedroom with my Thai friends Ae, Pooh and Arm now. Shamraz in the corner working on videos as usual. The sounds I'm hearing have slowly become familiar rhythms. The constant bickering, shrill screams, and long Thai conversations put a huge smile on my face. I still remember my first time meeting Jib and Ae last year for Field Studies, and the language was still foreign and alien to me... how time flies.

I feel guilty for not updating over the past few weeks. We've been to many places. Starting from Bangkok, and working our way northwards to Sukothai, and then Mae Sot and Mae Sariang. We've had lots of good times--albeit hitting a slight bump for the latest project with my bunch of kids. Thank god that's over, and all I'm looking forward to now is Pai and Chiang Mai.

The whole group's currently in Maehongson province, once again. It's my second time here, and the nostalgia is overwhelming. While I wish I had my old friends here with me, it's been quite amazing making new friends with the students. Some of them are really such sweethearts :) Also, meeting with old Thai friends has been an amazing feeling. Just seeing the smiles on their faces, and running into each other's arms for a long embrace.

We chanced upon a Chinese wedding in Baan Rak Thai!

Nice random shot taken by Pooh, which I only found in my camera much later...
